Biography

Kristin Scott Thomas grew up in Dorset. She moved to London after finishing school. At 19, she left her drama teacher training course to move to France. In Paris, she worked as an au pair and trained as an actor at ENSATT. After graduating she landed a lead role in Prince’s movie Under The Cherry Moon. She has since mixed French-speaking roles in movies such as Tell No One with British movies including The English Patient and Nowhere Boy. In 2003 she was awarded an OBE for her services to drama.

  • She grew up in naval bases. When she was five, her father, a Royal Navy pilot, died in a plane crash. Six years later her stepfather died in similar circumstances.
