Channing Tatum is the oldest of eight children. He grew up playing sports in Alabama, Florida and Mississippi. After leaving college, he was spotted by an agent in Miami. He began a career as a fashion model. His modelling work allowed him to finance dance and acting classes. His first acting job was in CSI: Miami. In 2006, his breakthrough movie role came in Step Up. He has built up a reputation in movies such as Fighting and A Guide to Recognising Your Saints.
