Steven Soderbergh began making movies as a teenager. After high school, he moved to Hollywood. He briefly worked as a freelance editor. He gained recognition for his Grammy-nominated rock concert video 9012Live. He moved back to his hometown in Louisiana where he wrote Sex, Lies And Videotape. Aged 26, he became the youngest director to win The Palme D’or at the Cannes Film Festival. He has since gained critical acclaim for directing movies including Erin Brockovich and Traffic.
