Biography

Kevin Smith grew up in New Jersey. After high school, he briefly studied creative writing at The New School For Social Research. He went to Vancouver Film School but left after only four months. While working in a shop, he wrote the screenplay for his breakthrough movie Clerks. He has built up a reputation as a writer and director filmmaker with movies from Chasing Amy to Jay And Silent Bob Fight Back. In 2010 he directed the first movie that he did not write, Cop Out.
