Sam Rockwell's parents were actors. He made his stage debut alongside his mother at the age of ten. After graduating from high school, he studied acting in New York for two years. He came to the attention of critics for his role in Box Of Moon Light in 1996. Since then he has starred in a variety of movies from Hollywood blockbusters like The Green Mile to independent movies such as Moon.
