Biography

Daniel Radcliffe's parents were a literary agent and a casting agent. He started acting at the age of five. His first professional acting job was in a TV adaptation of David Copperfield. He was spotted by movie producer, David Heyman, when he accompanied his father to watch a play in London. After a series of auditions, he won the title role in the Harry Potter franchise. He has since made his West End and Broadway debut in the play Equus.

  • Daniel Radcliffe was given access to his Harry Potter millions at the age of 18. He bought a painting by New York-based artist Jim Hodges. The artist insisted on selling it to Daniel as he is a big fan of Harry Potter. He bought the Hodges work, Mona D, Mary And Me, which is a blue ink drawing with the words "Oh for crying out loud".
  • In an interview with The Guardian in July 2009, he commented on his recurrent Harry Potter role by stating "they're the only films since Truffaut's Antoine Doinel series that have featured one character going from about the age of 11 to 20. To be in Truffaut's company, I'm happy with that".
  • He allegedly said that Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban is his favourite book from the Harry Potter series.

  • He has reportedly dated actress Laura O' Toole. They met when she worked as an understudy on the play Equus.
