Natalie Portman was born in Jerusalem to an Israeli father and American mother. At the age of three she moved to the US. She was spotted by a modelling agent as a child. However, she turned down modelling work because she preferred acting. She spent her school holidays at theatre summer camps. At 12, she made her movie debut in Leon. She studied psychology at Harvard. She has become a versatile actress starring in movies ranging from the Star Wars prequel trilogy to V For Vendetta.
