Robert De Niro’s first stage part was as The Cowardly Lion in The Wizard Of Oz at the age of ten. He was raised by a family of artists in New York. He trained as a method actor at the Lee Strasberg Institute. He rose to fame playing mobsters in Mean Streets and The Godfather Part II. In 1993 he made his directorial debut with A Bronx Tale. He has since surprised audiences with Golden Globe nominated comedy roles including Analyze This and Meet The Parents.
