As a child Matthew Lillard and his family moved from Michigan to California. After high school, he studied at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Pasadena. In 1991 he moved to New York to study at the Circle In A Square Professional Theater School. In 1996 he got his big break in Scream. He has played several supporting roles in movies such as The Perfect Score. He has performed a variety of movie roles from the musical Love’s Labour Lost to Shaggy in the Scooby Doo franchise.
