Logan Lerman grew up in Beverly Hills. He secured an agent at the age of four. In the mid nineties he began acting in TV advertisements. In 2000 he got his big break playing Mel Gibson’s son in The Patriot and a younger version of Mel Gibson’s character in What Women Want. He went on to appear in TV shows such as Jack & Bobby and in movies like 3:10 To Yuma. He has since landed leading roles in movies including Hoot and Percy Jackson & The Lightning Thief.
Logan Lerman has directed several short movies including Cemetery Party and Blind Date. In an interview with Vanity Fair he said "I feel like almost the only thing I want to do in my life is to make movies. But, growing up on sets, I feel like if I go to film school I might discover that I don't need to be there to make films".
He allegedly decided to become an actor at the age of two and a half after watching a Jackie Chan movie.
He studied Greek mythology for months to prepare for his role in Percy Jackson: The Lightning Thief.
In 2006 he won a Young Artist Award, Best Performance in a Feature Film - Leading Young Actor, for his role in Hoot.
His family runs a prosthetics company established by his great-grandfather.
