Biography

Jude Law was born and raised in London. At the age of 12, he began acting with the National Youth Music Theatre. He left school early to star in the soap opera Families. He then moved into theatre where he earned nominations for a Laurence Olivier and a Tony award. He rose to fame playing supporting roles in movies including Gattaca and Wilde. He has become an established leading actor in movies including The Talented Mr. Ripley and AI: Artificial Intelligence.

  • Along with Johnny Depp and Colin Farrell, Jude Law donated his salary from The Imaginarium Of Doctor Parnassus to Heath Ledger's daughter, Matilda. They wanted to give her a secure financial future.
  • In 1997, he married actress Sadie Frost. They have three children. They divorced six years later.
  • To prepare for his role as a repossessor of organs in Repo Men, he said that he bought a half side of a pig because pig flesh is meant to be a similar texture to human flesh. A London surgeon helped teach him how to cut the pig's flesh using surgical scalpels.
  • He co-founded the movie and theatre company, Natural Nylon, with actors including Sadie Frost and Ewan McGregor. In 2003, he resigned as a director of the company.
