Anthony Hopkins was born and raised in Wales. He studied at the Welsh College of Music and Drama. After two years in the army, he trained at RADA. He was spotted by Laurence Olivier, who invited him to join the National Theatre in London. Since then, he has appeared in a range of movies from The Elephant Man to Beowulf. He is best known for his portrayal of cannibalistic serial killer Hannibal Lecter.
