Will Ferrell was raised by his teacher mother and guitarist father in California. After graduating with a degree in Sports Information, he wanted to become a sports broadcaster. During his internship at NBC Sport, he decided to turn his ability to make people laugh into a career. He became a popular performer on Saturday Night Live. In 2007, he left his television career behind to star in movies full time. His popularity soared with comic roles in Elf and Anchorman: The Legend Of Ron Burgundy.

He has a scar near his abdomen from surgery to treat pyloric stenosis, a condition that causes frequent vomiting.
