Biography

After high school, Morgan Porterfield Freeman Jr. turned down a drama scholarship to work as a mechanic. He spent several years in the US air force before becoming an actor. He first appeared on stage. In the eighties, he had a number of supporting parts in movies like Driving Miss Daisy and Glory. He moved up the ladder to leading roles in movies including The Shawshank Redemption and Se7en.
