Biography

Born in San Luis Obispo, Zac Efron’s middle class family later moved to Arroyo Grande. He appeared in school plays and amateur productions including Peter Pan. He got his first taste of Hollywood when his theatre teacher, Robyn Metchick, introduced him to an agent in LA. He cut his TV teeth in guest roles in ER, Firefly and CSI: Miami. His breakthrough role came in 2006 when he starred in High School Musical. His subsequent movie work ranges from Hairspray to Me And Orson Welles.

  • Zac Efron’s singing voice in the Disney Channel’s original first television movie High School Musical (2006) was actually that of Canadian Andrew (Drew) Seeley. Drew is a regular singer on Disney soundtracks and compilations.
