Kristin Davis grew up in South Carolina. As a child, she began acting in community theatre. She studied at Rutgers University. After graduating, she moved to New York. She began her acting career with minor roles in movies such as Nine Months and TV shows like Melrose Place. In 1998, she landed her breakthrough role playing Charlotte York in Sex And The City and its subsequent movies. She has also starred in moves including The Shaggy Dog and Couples Retreat.
