Biography

John Cleese joined the Footlights society while studying law at Cambridge University. After graduating, he performed on the West End in the Footlights show Cambridge Circus. He then became a writer on TV shows such as The Frost Report where he met Michael Palin. He became well known for writing and performing in Monty Python and Fawlty Towers. Alongside his starring roles in the Monty Python movies, he has starred in a variety of features from A Fish Called Wanda to Rat Race.
