When Gerard Butler was having a picnic with his mother, he heard a boy shouting that his friend was in trouble. He ran to the river side and saved a 14 year old boy from drowning in the River Tay in Scotland.
After being fired as a trainee civil lawyer from a firm in Edinburgh, he recalled "it was the worst day of my life, yet it was the best thing that ever happened to me".
