Teenage mutant Rogue (Anna Paquin) runs away from home and meets fellow mutant Logan (Hugh Jackman). When they are attacked, the X-Men come to their rescue. The X-Men are a team of mutant superheroes, lead by psychic Professor Charles Xavier (Patrick Stewart). When Rogue is kidnapped by the evil Magneto (Ian McKellen), an extremely powerful mutant, the X-Men set out to rescue her and save the planet. With Famke Jannsen, Halle Berry and Ray Park.   • This film is based on the comic book series by Stan Lee. Lee makes a cameo appearance in this film as the man at the hot dog stand.
  • Dougray Scott was originally cast to play Wolverine but he had to leave the project to work on Mission: Impossible II. Little-known actor Hugh Jackman was cast as his replacement.
  • There were three types of Wolverine claws. Some were made with plastic, some with wood and some with steel. Hugh Jackman and his stunt doubles worked their way through 700 claw blades.
