Maria (Julie Andrews) is a nun who sneaks off to sing in the hills whenever she gets a chance. But Maria's Mother Superior (Peggy Wood) wants her to learn about the real world. Maria is sent off to look after the seven children of the widowed Captain Von Trapp (Christopher Plummer). The children have been brought up with discipline but Maria brings happiness to the their lives by teaching them the joys of music. Suitable for all.
