Based on a true story. During World War II Eric Lomax (Colin Firth) was captured in Singapore and sent to a Japanese POW camp. Inside he was forced to work on the Thai-Burma railway and was brutally tortured. Decades later Lomax still suffers from the psychological trauma from his horrifying time inside the camp. Now, Lomax decides to track down the Japanese soldier responsible and he returns to scene of the torture to finally lay his demons to rest. With Nicole Kidman and Stellan Skarsgard.
