Based on true events. Sam Childers (Gerard Butler) was a biker, a criminal and a drug addict. After getting out of prison he meets his wife (Michelle Monaghan) who has given up her life as a stripper and become a Christian. She inspires him to make a change. Sam decides to travel to Africa and help rebuild war-torn homes. But when he faces the horrors of war Sam must decide whether to give up or to stay and protect the children from a brutal renegade army. Violent scenes, strong language, scenes of a sexual nature.
