Harry (Robert Downey Jr.) is a thief whose latest crime spree goes horribly wrong. Fleeing from the police, he stumbles into a movie audition and pretends to be an actor. He is so convincing that he is sent to Hollywood to shadow a detective in preparation for his part. He meets Perry (Val Kilmer), a homosexual private eye who suggests that he participate in a murder investigation. With a killer on the loose, Harry and Perry must solve the mystery together. Co stars Michelle Monaghan. Contains strong language.
