Two journalists are murdered after exposing a sex trafficking scandal. When computer hacker Lisbeth's (Noomi Rapace) fingerprints are found on the weapon, she becomes the prime suspect. She panics and disappears without a trace. When Lisbeth's friend, journalist Mikael Blomkvist (Michael Nyqvist), hears the news he refuses to believe the allegations and tries to track her down. Mikael realises that the only way he can clear Lisbeth's name is by solving the case himself. Subtitled. Scenes of violence and strong sex, with references to sexual violence.
