Johnny Blaze (Nicolas Cage) made a deal with the devil and was cursed for life. Despite having superpowers, he hides his dangerous alter ego Ghost Rider. But when he is approached by a monk who needs help, Johnny Blaze decides to come out of hiding. The devil (Ciaran Hinds) and his dark forces are chasing a young boy and Ghost Rider is the only one who can save the child. Johnny Blaze must transform into Ghost Rider to do battle with the prince of darkness himself. Occasional strong language, mild images of horror and gun violence.

- Nicolas Cage, who plays Johnny Blaze, based the movements of Ghost Rider on various insects and snakes.
- To achieve some of the action shots in this film co-director Brian Taylor would put on rollerblades and hang off the back of the motorcycles while filming.
- When Idris Elba, who plays Moreau, was 19-years-old he had a motorcycle accident. Brian Taylor convinced him to ride one again and perform the stunts for this film.
- To help get into the character of Ghost Rider, Nicolas Cage would put on white and black make-up, wear black contact lenses and not talk to anyone.
- The directors of this film Brian Taylor and Mark Neveldine also worked on the Crank films, Gamer and Jonah Hex.
